Tony Stewart Announces Retirement
At a press conference in Kannapolis, North Carolina Wednesday afternoon, three-time premier series champion Tony Stewart announced that he was hanging it up.
Saying that it was a formality at this point, Stewart was in great spirits as he told the crowd that he would be stepping away from full-time competition after the 2016 season.
It hasn't been a difficult decision for the champ, either, with many actually trying to talk him OUT of it to no avail, obviously.
Clint Bowyer will step in and begin driving the Stewart-Haas Racing No. 14 Chevy beginning in 2017.
