Your BBB® has found two helpful resources for parents this holiday season. The first resource is from Lisa Madigan, the Attorney General of Illinois and is entitled “Safe Shopping Guide.” Click here to read and download a copy of the Guide.

According to Attorney General Madigan, the Guide contains “detailed descriptions and photographs of toys, cribs, furniture, children’s clothing, and ATVs recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission this year.” Also included in the Guide is helpful information for parents who are considering purchasing a smartphone, tablet, video game or other Internet-accessible device for their children. It provides a how-to for parents and caregivers to set age-appropriate limits on those devices so they can monitor what their children access online. There is also a sample “Agreement to Abide by the Rules” for Internet use that can be signed by parents and child and a page on “Safety Features and Parental Controls on Digital Devices.”

The other helpful resource for parents comes from World Against Toys Causing Harm, Inc. (W.A.T.C.H.) and lists the 10 Worst Toys of 2015
