TRANSIT SYSTEM ANNOUNCES NEW RATES

The Owensboro Transit System announces new rates and passes. 

               DAY PASS: Ride the entire day for $3.00. 

-              MONTHLY PASS:  Reducing rates from $40/month to $30/month.

-              ELDERLY AND DISABLED PASS: (Seniors 60+, Medicare Card Holders, and Disabled): Reducing rate from $20/month to $15/month. 

-              YOUTH PASS:  Offering a monthly bus youth pass from ages 7 to 18 for $15/month.  **Anyone that is age 6 and under is free. 

-              CLASS PASS:  $50 per semester. Valid for any student in the City of Owensboro for unlimited rides for one semester (spring or fall).  Valid student ID required.  $75 per year:  Valid for any student in the City of Owensboro for unlimited rides for one school year.  Valid student ID required.  

Changes Mayor Ron Payne commented, “It’s our hope that these new passes and rates make it more economical for our citizens and visitors to use Owensboro’s transit system.”  The Owensboro Transit System is open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  

As always, the Owensboro Transit System provides safe, reliable, and affordable urban fixed route transportation and ADA para-transit services to improve the quality of life and stimulate economic development for the citizens of Owensboro.
