41st President of the United States George H. W. Bush passed away last Friday. His memorial service in Washington, DC on Wednesday has prompted the Postal Service to suspend mail delivery services for the day.

President Trump issued a Presidential Proclamation Monday declaring this Wednesday, December 5th a National Day of Mourning. The federal government will also close down. The President has issued flags to fly at half-staff at public buildings for 30 days out of respect for the late 41st President.

Here's the USPS's statement:

"We will provide limited package delivery service on that day to ensure that our network remains fluid and we do not experience any impacts to our package delivery operations that might negatively affect our customers or business partners during the remainder of our busy holiday season."
