Western Kentucky Botanical Garden to Wrap Up August with ‘Balloons Over the Garden’

Summer is winding down and the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden is preparing for a big finale with "Balloons Over the Garden."

Friday, August 28th through Sunday, August 30th, the skies over Owensboro will feature colorful hot air balloons...and possibly YOU.

That's right! You can go up in one of the hot air balloons by reserving a flight. Just call the Balloon Line at 270-993-1234.

And here's how it will go down.

FRIDAY SCHEDULE

Passengers with reservations will arrive for full flights at 5:30PM.

SATURDAY SCHEDULE

Passengers with reservations for full flights will arrive at 6AM.

The tethered rides, which are first come-first served and cost $10, will begin at 6:30AM and go until 9:30AM.

The Daviess County Bicentennial Tethered Flight is at 9AM followed by the Pilots' Breakfast at 10AM.

There will be children's activities from 4-6PM and from 4 to 9 a food court, cold air walk in balloon, and music by J&B Sound & Light.

From 5PM to 8PM, it's the VIP Patio Party.

At 6PM, passengers with reservations will arrive for the second round of full flights.

And from 6PM to 8:30PM, more tethered rides. Again, first come-first served.
