Who remembers when THIS was the front of Daviess County Middle School out on East 4th?

Who remembers when Gabe's Tower looked like this? And who remembers when there was a fancy restaurant just below the top floor (where the swimming pool was)?

Who remembers when Gabe's Restaurant (where an Eagle is now) was THE hot place to eat in Owensboro? And who remembers when that tavern in the lower left (it was called Roy's) that's visible just under the carport roof was where Burger King is today? And what about Gabe waving at everyone with his disproportionately LONG right arm?
