According to AccuWeather we could see less snow and more ice.  In fact, pay close attention to the ice accumulation.  That's no typo . . . we could see more than a half inch of ice.

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement and here's how they're currently assessing the brewing winter storm:

A potential winter storm will impact travel later Thursday night through Friday night. A strong cold front will change rain to a wintry mix and then to snow. The types and amounts of precipitation will depend on the speed of the storm system. A slower storm will result in a longer duration of wintry precipitation.

The main story this weekend will be the arrival of much colder air. Highs will be mainly in the 20s both days, with early morning wind chills near zero early Sunday morning. The cold air will continue into early next week. Another arctic blast on Monday could send wind chills back down to between 0 and -10 by Tuesday morning.

Stay tuned to WBKR and WBKR.com.  As we get information we will be giving updates as what could be a major winter storm approaches the tristate.
