This is gonna be one big daddy of a truck stop once it becomes reality. The state of Illinois is about to become home to a new truck stop big enough to fit 1,000 semi trucks which will make it the biggest in America.

I saw this big development (literally) shared on the Illinois sub-Reddit. It's a share about a story from the Chicago Tribune reporting that 70 Airport Road in West Dundee, Illinois is about to get a new truck stop from the company Outpost. Reports seem to believe it will open in mid-to-late October according to the Chicago Sun-Times. It will be located in what used to be this open space just off of Interstate 90.

The report says this massive new travel center will have an emphasis on safety and security with 24/7 monitoring of the parking areas for the many trucks that will make this a destination along their route.

The Chicago Tribune story says that it will 1,000 semi trucks can park here "comfortably" which will elevate it above the I-80 truck stop in Iowa which currently (temporarily) is the record holder for biggest truck stop with 900 spots.

There were some concerns on the Illinois sub-Reddit about what this will to do traffic on I-90.

Once this new Illinois truck stop opens, I will update this story with first-person reports on what it's like to stop there. As it stands, it will be a record-breaker and it won't be long before you can experience it.
