77 Restaurants in Indiana Have the Most Unheathy Meal in the US
While it might be delicious, one restaurant with 77 locations in Indiana has the most unhealthy meal in the United States. Any guesses?
We live in a world now where most people are more health conscious than they were twenty years ago, and for good reason. We only get one life, one body. It's best to take care of it the best you can. This is especially true when it comes to the food that we eat. Now look, I'll be the first to admit that fast food and Hamburger Helper are delicious, and I eat more of it than I probably should. The older I get, the more I realize that I can't eat like I used to back in the day. It used to be, that I could eat all of that food that I wanted and not gain a pound. Now, it seems like I eat it once in a blue moon and I gain five pounds.
That brings me to a study I saw on Yahoo that analyzed the nutritional value of items from 47 of the most popular fast food restaurants in the US and ranked these to see which items contained the most calories. The results were quite interesting, considering I have indulged in a few of these menu items one too many times, and I am sure you have too. Their results show that most calorific (or 'unhealthy') meal can be found at a restaurant chain that currently has 77 different locations here in the Hoosier State.

So, what is the most unhealthy meal in the United States? That "honor" goes to Hardee’s Fried Chicken 12 Piece and 6 Biscuits. Here's what Yahoo said:
Hardee’s Fried Chicken 12 Piece and 6 Biscuits tops the list as the unhealthiest fast food item, with an eye-watering 6,490 calories. Founded in 1960, Hardee’s is a staple of the American fast food world, known for its Thickburgers, hand-breaded chicken tenders, and indulgent breakfast offerings.
Hardee's has 77 locations here in Indiana serving up the most unhealthy meal in America, even though it is pretty delicous. Here's the thing...according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the recommended caloric intake for men and women for the whole day is less than half of the amount of calories in that meal! The NIH says:
A woman should eat 2000 calories per day to maintain her weight, and should limit her caloric intake to 1500 or less to lose one pound per week. For the average male to maintain his body weight, he should eat 2500 calories per day, or 2000 a day if he wants to lose one pound per week.
Again, that meal is pretty delicous, but it is probably best to consume it in moderation based off that information. Oh, and if you were wondering what other menu items made this list, here's the top ten:
