Fireworks Will Return to Downtown Newburgh This Independence Day Weekend!
Downtown Newburgh has been missing fireworks for a few years, but they are back and ready to celebrate this summer!
Independence Day
The fourth of July is a fun day where we celebrate our country's independence. Many of us gather with friends and family for cookouts and fireworks. Shooting off fireworks on July 4th is as American as apple pie! Growing up, my parents always took my brother and me to downtown Newburgh to watch the fireworks over the river. However in recent years it has been harder for the downtown Newburgh fireworks show to go on, and ultimately it had to go on a hiatus. However, that all changed after an exciting announcement that fireworks in Newburgh are back in 2025!
Fireworks are Back in Downtown Newburgh
Historic Newburgh Inc. puts on many great events in the Newburgh area, and on March 18th they made the exciting announcement that fireworks were coming back this year. The announcement reads:

The fun event will take place on July 5th, which means you can enjoy fireworks shows all Independence Day weekend! While it is exciting the fireworks are coming back to Newburgh, there is also a fun event accompanying the fireworks show, that not only will fireworks be back, it will also be a part of the 4th annual Newburgh Music Festival with all proceeds benefiting Newburgh Neighbors.
