One Indiana City Makes Orkin’s List of Cities with the Most Mosquitoes
It's mosquito season, and Orkin just released its annual list of the cities with the most mosquitoes. As it turns out, only one city in Indiana made the list. Any guesses?
I don't know about you, but I always have a BAD mosquito problem in my yard. I can't even walk outside for two minutes without having to swat those pests away. It's a nuisance that nobody wants to deal with. Maybe you have tried citronella candles while sitting on your patio. That helps for sure. Perhaps you have lemongrass or peppermint plants in your yard to help keep the mosquitoes away. Somehow it seems that they are all only so effective. The sad thing is that I live in Boonville, Indiana, and while we have a lot of mosquitoes in our area, there's one Indiana city that I am grateful that I don't live in because they have a much worse mosquito problem.
Orkin just posted its 2023 list of the top cities for mosquitoes based on treatment data from the metro areas where Orkin performed the most mosquito control services from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023, in residential and commercial areas. For the third year in a row, Los Angeles is the worst city for mosquitoes. Out of the 50 cities listed on there, only one of them is found in Indiana.
One Indiana City Makes Orkin's List of Cities with the Most Mosquitoes
Coming in at number 20 on Orkin's list of cities with the most mosquitoes for 2023 is none other than our state capital, Indianapolis. Indy must have a problem with bugs in general because earlier this year, the city also was the only Indiana city on Orkin's list of the worst cities for bed bugs too.
