Website Claims This is the Most Popular Snack in Indiana
What's your go-to snack? I'd be willing to bet that it isn't what one website claims is the most popular snack in all of Indiana.
When you think of snack food, what are some of the first things that come to mind? I would say things like potato chips, popcorn, candy, cookies, fruits, vegitables, ice cream, and on a personal level, Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes. Whatever your go-to snack food is, it's always something quick and small that you eat in between meals. While there are a lot of snack foods to choose from, one website made it their mission to find the most popular snack in each state.
Reader's Digest recently released a list of the most popular snack in each state. That sounds like a pretty random task, right? I mean how can you determine what a state's favorite snack is? According to Reader's Digest:
Well, we partnered with our friends at <em>Taste of Home</em> to answer that burning question. And, turns out, snacks are some of <a href="https://www.rd.com/article/america-favorite-food/" rel="noopener" data-name="www.rd.com/article/america-favorite-food/" data-module="content engagement" data-position="embedded links">America’s favorite foods</a>. We searched high and low for the best snack in every state, compiling an impressive list that includes <a href="https://www.rd.com/list/state-foods/" rel="noopener" data-name="www.rd.com/list/state-foods/" data-module="content engagement" data-position="embedded links">state foods</a>, local eats and more.
So, what is the most popular snack in Indiana? Well, it might not be what you'd expect. Read on to find out.
Is This the Most Popular Snack in Indiana?
Reader's Digest came to the conclusion that the most popular snack in the state of Indiana is...a corndog. I don't know about you, but I don't typically snack on corndogs outside of going to a fair. That being said, Indiana is home to the "Corndog Capital of the World," Bristol, Indiana.
Here's what Reader's Digest had to say about Indiana's favorite snack:
Synonymous with summer nights in the Hoosier state, these battered-up, deep-fried <a href="https://www.rd.com/article/what-are-hot-dogs-made-of/" data-name="www.rd.com/article/what-are-hot-dogs-made-of/" data-module="content engagement" data-position="embedded links">hot dogs</a> on sticks are also the namesake of Indiana’s newest pre-professional baseball team: The Lake County Corn Dogs.
