Evansville's nightlife scene is getting a new place to dance, except this one won't actually have a permanent place.

The owners of Nirvana Mobile Bar are launching Evv POSE., a new queer dance party built around music, movement, and community. Instead of opening a traditional nightclub at one address POSE. will pop up at different venues around Evansville.

And I absolutely love this concept.

POSE. Brings Pop-Up Nightlife to Evansville

POSE. takes inspiration from the club promotion scene of the 1990s and early 2000s, when promoters could turn different venues into nightlife destinations for an evening.

That means POSE. isn't tied to a particular bar or club.

Organizers say they're open to working with bars and clubs as well as less conventional spaces like salons, coffee shops, and other unique locations.

The goal is to create a space to dance, mingle, espace for a while, and find community wherever POSE. happens to land next.

What Kind of Music Can You Expect at POSE.?

If your idea of a good night involves music that makes it nearly impossible to stand still, you're probably going to like this.

POSE. plans to feature a mix of EDM subgenres, dance-pop, house, disco, and Y2K classics.

Organizers are also planning themed nights in the future, which should allow each POSE. event to have its own personality while maintaining the same dance-party atmosphere.

First EVV POSE. Party Is September 26

The official kickoff will take place Saturday, September 26, at The Clover Club, 203 Main Street, in Evansville.

POSE. will take over the space from 8 p.m. to midnight for its inaugural party. It's open to anyone 21 and older, and there will be no cover at the door.

After that, the party could turn up somewhere completely different.

The roaming format may be one of the coolest parts of the entire idea. Instead of asking people to come back to the same nightclub every weekend, POSE. can transform different spaces around Evansville into a dance floor while creating something the city's LGBTQIA+ community can call its own.

Or, as the owners put it, a space "where love and music collide."
