Fisher-Price Recalls Toy Sold As Part of Set Due to Choking Hazard
Fisher-Price is recalling about 366,200 toys in the United States and an additional 37,850 in Canada after it was discovered part of the toy poses a choking hazard to infants.
The product was sold at brick and mortar retailers nationwide including: Walmart, Kohls, Fred Meyer, Hobby Lobby, Marshalls, TJMaxx, Buy Buy Baby and Target. The recalled toy was also sold via online retailers like Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Zulily.com, Target.com and others.
The recalled product is part of a set that was sold from April 2000 until August 2024. Packaged as the "Baby Biceps Gift Set," and selling for around $18, the set is intended to mimic a child's introduction to weightlifting.
One particular part of the set is the culprit of the mass recall - a plastic toy dumbbell. There have been seven reports in the United States alone of the plastic end coming off of the toy dumbbell. At this time, there have been no injuries reported.
According to the recall, consumers should stop use of the toy immediately, and remove it from young children. Those who have the toy can then contact Fisher-Price to get a refund. You will be expected to visit this site and follow the instructions regarding photos of the toy, as well as how to properly dispose of it.
They say that consumers can keep all of the other toys in the set, and that it is only the dumbbell that is included in the recall. As such, a partial refund of $10 is what consumers can expect to receive. There is no proof of purchase required to obtain the refund.
