Kentucky Campgrounds Hosting Halloween Weekends & Activities

Ahh summer is here. That can only mean ONE thing. It's time to get on the stick and book your Halloween campsite!

Actually, I think there are a lot of people who would forgo summer altogether if they could and skip straight to fall. Fall/winter/spring/fall/winter/spring. But, they can't (thankfully). And, it just gives you a little more time to figure where you want to camp this Halloween season and start game planning your costumes.

I'm a member of the Kentucky Camping Group on Facebook and one parent asked what campgrounds host Halloween activities. Here's what we found out.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Cave City, KY by Mammoth Cave 

Starting September 27th and running through the month of October, each weekend at Jellystone is Halloween-themed: Too Cute to Spook (non-scary), Fall Break, Hocus Pocus, Spooktacular, Fright Night, and Monster Mash. Enjoy games, trick-or-treating, karaoke, hayrides, and more.

Diamond Lake Resort in Owensboro, KY

Boo Fest unleashes Halloween fun every weekend from September's end to October's close! Trick-or-treat adventures and Halloween delights await, with a public spectacle on the Grand Finale Weekend!

Louisville South KOA Holiday

Gather your goblins & ghouls for a ghostly weekend of Halloween fun at the Louisville South KOA Holiday! During four weekends in October, they'll transform into a creepy campground crawling with hauntingly fun activities! Wear your costume for a hayride to the pumpkin patch, safe trick-or-treating (all campground roads will be closed), a flashlight candy hunt, a haunted house, campsite decorating contests, an outdoor movie night, Halloween crafts, pumpkin painting, a costume contest and more!

Fort Boonesborough State Park in Richmond KY

Halloween Lights Drive Thru: Friday, Oct 11, 2024 - Saturday, Oct 26, 2024 (Daily) Enjoy the sights, sounds, and scares of over one and one-half miles of Halloween lights and displays from your car. Come early and join us for our 30th annual Halloween Party. This will be the biggest yet as they celebrate 13 days of fun and frights. They will have scheduled times for free putt-putt, camper decoration contests, costume contests, ghost walks, bean supper, pancake breakfast, Halloween parade, crafts, live entertainment, trick or treating, and lots, lots more. This event is for registered campers only.

Horse Cave KOA in Shepherdsville, KY

Book the weekends of Oct 11th or Oct 25th to enjoy a spooktacular weekend with family and friends. Be sure to enter into the chili cook-off. Bring candy so the kiddos can trick or treat in the park. This is also open to the public for trick or treating.

Ashland / Huntington West KOA

Spooktacular Haunted Trails. This is a family-friendly event with fun activities.

Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park in Carlile, KY

They are gearing up for 2024's Boo Bash Halloween Weekend activities! They will be hosting TWO campground trick-or-treats! These programs will take place on October 19th and 26th with activities for everyone. Trick-or-treat programs will be accessible to campground guests only.
