Like a lot of you, one of my happy places is Holiday World & Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus, IN. It has changed so much over the years and just keeps getting better and better.

With new rides, new restaurants, and new events there is something for everyone even if you aren't a rollercoaster fan. If you ARE a rollercoaster fan, Holiday World is on your list of favorite places. When we went to the opening of Good Gravy, we met enthusiasts from all over the country who came to take the first ride. That day, I sat with one individual on the Voyage who wore goggles and told me all about the great quality of the seatbelts. Info I never thought I would learn, but good to know!

Speaking of folks in the know, Amusement Today is a monthly publication that covers all things theme parks. Including features on exciting rides, reviews from experts and fans, and they host an annual award ceremony for their coveted Golden Ticket "Best of the Best" winners.  Voted on by park experts from all over the world, this honor is kinda a big deal!

Holiday World & Splashin' Safari won three Golden Ticket awards for 2024! Two of them are honors for a brand new ride and event.

Wildebeest - #1 Water Park Ride

Fun fact: This is the 12th year they've snagged the top spot in this category.

Holidays in the Sky Drone Show - #1 Innovation of the Year

Good Gravy! - #1 Best New Theme

Fun fact: This is the first year for this original award category

Each one of these awards is MUCH deserved! Congratulations friends!

The team at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari is so creative and works hard to keep the party going! We've had such a blast at events throughout the year from the Solar Eclipse parking lot party to Friday Night Live and riding coasters in the dark. I'm putting it out into the universe that we'll see a fun new somethin' somethin' to celebrate Christmas too! hint, hint, nudge, nudge!

LOOK: What Christmas was like the year you were born

To see how Christmas has changed over the last century, Stacker explored how popular traditions, like food and decorations, emerged and evolved from 1920 to 2021 in the U.S. and around the world.
