What do a baby Gorilla, a baby Giraffe, and a baby Tiger all have in common? You can visit them now at the Louisville Zoo!

OK, honestly, there is never a BAD time to visit the Louisville Zoo, but right now has to be the best because there are three bundles of joy you have to meet. Last year, zookeepers must have been having some serious baby fever, because the maternity ward was full of cuteness. Now that the babies are bigger, they are ready for the spotlight.

Abeo, The Baby Gorilla

The name Abeo is Yoruba/Nigerian and means "bringer of happiness," which definitely fits! I'm not gonna lie, I get verklempt just looking at his sweet face. I know animals have their reasons, but it broke my heart to read that his birth mother wasn't able or willing to bond with him. Luckily, he was adopted by his foster mother, Kweli. Abeo loves to play and snack on fruits and greens.

@gwilli25 I didn’t move from this window for quite possibly an hour. The Louisville Zoo/the gorilla room will be seeing a whole lot more of me #gorilla #zoo #louisville #cuteanimals ♬ Clouds - Luke Faulkner

Kaji the Sumatran Tiger Cub

In July, Kaji will celebrate his first birthday. He was the first Sumatran tiger cub born at the Louisville Zoo in over 20 years! His name is a combination of Kami and Jingga, his parents' names.  He can be seen in the Banjar House habitat several days a week, running, playing, and being a cutie patootie!

Nyasi the Giraffe Calf

Nyasi (meaning "grass" in Swahili) is the first Masai giraffe calf born at the Louisville Zoo in twelve years. He was 160 pounds when he was born last August and measured over 6 feet tall! You can see him daily from 10 AM to 2 PM in the Africa Zone, weather and toddler temperament permitting. Actually, I don't know if giraffe toddlers have temper tantrums, but I bet it would be awful cute!

When Can I See Baby Animals at the Louisville Zoo?

Before you visit, if you want to make sure you get to lay eyes on these three adorable guys, check the Louisville Zoo website. They have a schedule of animal viewings and can provide updates if any of the "babies" won't be out and about in their habitats. Have you already met these adorable kiddos? I'd love to see pictures, pretty please! You can send them in the AppChat feature.
