I keep my ear pretty firmly to the ground when it comes to filmmakers shooting movies in Kentucky, but this one got away from me. But hey, as long as they're coming to the Commonwealth to create their art, I don't care.

Starring Nashville's Hayden Panettiere and Abbott Elementary Emmy nominee Tyler James Williams, Amber Alert is a new movie set for a limited release on September 27th. In it, they play a rideshare driver and his passenger who receive an amber alert on their phones and then realize they're right behind a vehicle that matches the alert's description. They decide to keep up with it while staying in constant contact with the police.

The film's trailer was released a week ago. Let's take a look:

The film follows a classic "race against time" format and was partially filmed right here in Kentucky. In fact, you probably noticed the Louisville skyline in the clip. Derby City's West Main Street and "Spaghetti Junction" can also be seen. Filming began last summer.

Louisville is no stranger to hosting Hollywood filmmakers; this film began its shoot not long after Ethan Hawke wrapped his Flannery O'Connor movie Wildcat.

The recent popularity of Louisville as a filming location shouldn't lead you to believe Hollywood has just discovered the Bluegrass State's largest city. Classics like Stripes, The Insider, Eight Men Out, and Goldfinger are just part of a list of films that were shot here.

In addition to its September 27th limited release date, Amber Alert will also become available that on VOD and digital platforms.
