My favorite true crime podcast, A Couple of Sassholes, is based right here in Owensboro, KY. Full disclosure, hosts Brooklyn Johnson and Heather Terry are two of my friends, and I am 100% biased, but they have been rockin' and rolling with over 50,000 downloads and streams in almost 40 countries!

Since 2022, Heather and Brooklyn have been sharing their special brand of storytelling to bring us some of the craziest stories I've ever heard. Every episode, the gals dig deep into the details of the case, providing their own opinions and witty commentary.

Now, you can find them all over the place! They've hosted and recorded a panel at Horror Con in Evansville and hosted live tapings in Owensboro. Because they are so gorgeous and the world needs to know, they video record all of their episodes too, so you can either listen or watch.

A Couple of Sassholes Podcast is proud to announce that their upcoming July 31st episode will feature Kelly Sutliff. Kelly is a renowned psychotherapist, domestic violence survivor, and founder of Kelly's K9s, Tails of Courage. Her harrowing tale was recently told in the premiere episode of the new ID Channel docuseries “Toxic.”

I was able to watch on HBO Max, and let me tell you, it's a wonder she is alive. Her strength and determination are totally inspiring. The episode is called "Sleeping With a Stranger," and if you haven't watched it yet, here is a trailer. Kelly is the first woman interviewed in the clip.

They were so moved by what an incredible woman Kelly is that the Sassholes reached out to see if she would be willing to speak with them for the podcast. Brooklyn shared, “Kelly’s story is a powerful reminder that toxic relationships can happen to anyone. Her strength, honesty, and courage to speak out are truly inspiring.”

By sharing the scariest moments of her life, she is making it her mission to help other women in similar situations. She is a therapist of 14 years and her nonprofit, Kelly’s K9s, Tails of Courage, provides highly trained protection dogs to survivors of domestic violence at no cost.

“Kelly’s story isn’t just powerful—it’s purposeful,” Heather shared. “She’s taking everything she’s been through and turning it into something that literally saves lives." This episode is one you won’t want to miss.  It's actually a two-fer, so you'll get the first half of Episode #157 on Thursday, July 31st at 7:00 AM CT, and the second on August 7th.

Enjoy streaming with video on Spotify and YouTube, and audio-only on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and everywhere else you get your podcasts. We'll just drop them right here for your convenience. If you scroll back far enough, you can find a couple of my Honorary Sasshole moments!
