MY KEY TAKEAWAYS

1: Pilots go through years of training to become part of the Blue Angels. Although this part of the film wasn't a surprise, the fact that they'll only serve on the team for a couple of years was fascinating.

2: Over the past 70 years, over 250 pilots have been Blue Angels.

3: Although, many women have been part of the Blue Angels history, in 2022 the first female demonstration fighter jet pilot was added to the team. Lieutenant Lee's journey was amazing to witness in the film.

4: The Blue Angels perform around 60 shows annually for over 500 million people throughout history. The documentary delves deep into how much prep goes into a show.

5: The signature smoke trails help with pilot safety and during some of the maneuvers, planes fly just 18 inches apart from each other. There were many fun facts shared in the film. Children will love to learn more about planes, their history, and their pilots!

6: Blue Angel team members are like family who are hand-picked. They need this bond to gain trust in one another. The documentary highlights this brotherhood/sisterhood beautifully.

The film's aerial photography and sound are worth the watch in itself. They really are the real-life version of Top Gun! I highly recommend watching it with your family. As you head to the Owensboro Air Show you might even recognize some familiar names on the planes!
