Indiana State Fair Announces 2024 “Taste of the Fair” Winners
The 2024 Indiana State Fair featured more than 140 food vendors, offering plenty of choices to guests looking for fair standards like burgers, dogs, corndogs, and nachos, as well as guests feeling a little more adventurous and looking for something new. With all of those options, which item(s) did fairgoers enjoy the most?
Indiana State Fair "Taste of the Fair" Contest
The Indiana State Fair features all kinds of contests and competitions, so why shouldn't the food be one of them? The "Taste of the Fair" competition allows guests to vote for their favorite new and deliciously wacky food & beverage items added to this year’s State Fair. The votes have been counted and the Indiana State Fair recently revealed the winners of this highly anticipated culinary competition among concessionaires.

The top three winners, who will be taking home cash prizes along with their titles, were determined through public voting throughout the fair. In addition, for the first time, the World Food Championships will award the top three winners a Golden Ticket entry to the World Food Championships event taking place in Indianapolis this fall for the first time in history at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Here are your 2024 Taste of the Fair winners...
1st Place - Fried Sugar Biscuit n’ BBQ with Apple Butter Sauce (from Nitro Hog BBQ)
A deep-fried biscuit rolled in sugar, stuffed with Pulled Pork topped with an Apple Butter BBQ Sauce.
2nd Place - Sweet Tea Slushy (from Colp's Concessions)
Everyone’s favorite freshly brewed sweet tea turned into a cold refreshing slushy!
3rd Place - Blueberry Cheesecake Stuffed Elephant Ear (from The Bakerman)
For ten years the Bakerman has offered fairgoers the original Stuffed Elephant Ear available with Apple, Cherry, or Peach filling. This year we are taking it to the next level with a Blueberry Cheesecake stuffed Elephant Ear!
