Authentic Irish Pub Takes Another Step Towards Opening in Southern Indiana
It has been a long time since folks have been able to enjoy some authentic Irish cuisine in Evansville. It has been five years, in fact, since Ri Ra Irish Pub closed its doors. Well, the luck of the Irish appears to be shining on Evansville in 2023 as we get closer and closer to the opening of a brand-new Irish pub.
The Evansville 411 News Facebook page shared an update on the progress being made by Patsy Hartigan's Irish Pub, which will be located at 203-205 Main Street in downtown Evansville - that is the former Strouse’s building next to the Peephole Bar & Grill. Patsy's menu will feature a genuine Irish and English menu, including favorites like Bangers and Mash, a full Irish breakfast served all day, pub burgers, ribeye, and walleye dinners, and at least twenty taps featuring European standards, local Craft pints, high-end Gin experience and everything in between. Details on the new pub will continue to be tweaked until opening and the menu will be released at a later date.
Whether you're a fan of Guinness or whiskey, live music, or traditional Irish fare, you're sure to find it at Patsy Hartigan's Irish Pub. The pub plans to open sometime between November 2023 and January 2024, depending on how long construction takes. That should give you plenty of time to practice saying "Sláinte!"
Sláinte, by the way, is the Irish (Gaelic) way of saying "Cheers!" The word actually means "health" just like you would say "salud" in Spanish or "salute" in Italian.
