Burdette Park Just Hit a Big Milestone and It Says a Lot About Summer in Evansville
One of the many things I love about Evansville that they have that my hometown does not are the parks. Especially a spot where you can camp, hangout, and enjoy the water all at once while being away from town but not too far. Evansville has places like Burdette Park and during the summertime, it's the place you want to be.
The longtime Evansville favorite just shared some pretty exciting news on Facebook. Burdette Park has officially set a new record for season pass sales, making 2026 the biggest season-pass year in park history. According to the post, the previous record was set in 2024, but this year has already topped it.
Burdette Park shows that fun family friendly places exist in the Tri-State and SO many are enjoying this park so far this year.
A Summer Staple for Evansville Families
Burdette Park has been a part of the Evansville community for decades, and it’s easy to see why so many people keep going back. The park, located on the west side of Evansville, has been around since 1936 and includes everything from trails and playgrounds to overnight lodging, picnic shelters, and one of the biggest draws during the summer, the Aquatic Center. Burdette’s pool area features an Olympic pool, family pool, children’s pool, waterslides, diving boards, and a spray park, making it one of those places that can fill an entire summer afternoon all by itself.
In its Facebook post, Burdette thanked the community for the support and also gave a shoutout to the staff who help keep the park running all season long, especially the younger employees who show up ready to serve guests every day.
Weather Has Been a Challenge, But Support Hasn’t Slowed Down
The park also acknowledged that summer weather can throw a few curveballs, which anyone in Southern Indiana definitely understands. Between heat, storms, and the occasional washout, running an outdoor summer attraction is never going to be totally predictable. But Burdette made it clear that even when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, the mission stays the same: continue providing a safe and fun place for the community to enjoy.
That message clearly seems to be resonating, because record-breaking season pass sales don’t happen by accident. They happen when families trust a place, return year after year, and decide it’s worth making part of their summer routine.
Season Pass Holders Have a Fun Night Coming Up
Burdette also reminded pass holders that there’s another perk coming up this week. The park is hosting a Season Pass Holders Only Glow Party on Friday, July 10, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
So if you’ve already grabbed a season pass this year, not only are you part of a record-breaking summer at Burdette, you’ve also got a glow party on the calendar.
And if you’ve spent even one hot Tri-State day wishing you were floating in a pool instead of sweating in a parking lot, this record probably makes perfect sense.
