
University of Evansville Theatre Season Includes Alanis, Shakespeare, and More
The University of Evansville Theatre has announced its 2025–2026 season, which includes productions that have never been performed on the UE campus before. This lineup has something for everyone.
Opening with Jagged Little Pill
Kicking off the season at Shanklin Theatre is a show that defined a generation of music lovers – JAGGED LITTLE PILL: The Musical. With music and lyrics by Alanis Morissette and Glen Ballard, and a book by Academy Award-winner Diablo Cody, this production is full of energy and emotion. Mark your calendars for October 17-26, because this is one you won’t want to miss!
Laughter in the Garden: Native Gardens
Over in the May Studio Theatre, the season starts with NATIVE GARDENS by Karen Zacarias. It’s a witty, modern comedy about neighbors, fences, and how quickly things can grow – sometimes literally, sometimes not. Performances run November 20-23.

Thought-Provoking Drama: Passage
As winter turns to spring, audiences will experience PASSAGE by Christopher Chen, directed by Assistant Professor Stacey Yen. This thought-provoking play takes the stage February 24-March 1.
Homegrown Talent: The Steadfast
Back at Shanklin, you can catch THE STEADFAST by UE alum Mat Smart ’01, March 20-29. This one’s directed by Wes Grantom ’03 and promises to deliver both heart and depth.

Season Finale: The Humans
Finally, the season wraps up in April with the Tony Award-winning drama THE HUMANS by Stephen Karam, running April 23-26 in the May Studio Theatre.

And let’s not forget – UE’s Rogue & Peasant Aces will bring Shakespeare’s MACBETH to the stage in November, with both campus and touring performances.

Tickets are affordable too – just $25 for adults and $20 for seniors, UE faculty/staff, and non-UE students. Season subscriptions are only $45, and subscribers get special discounts for the May Studio shows.
