Floridians Brace For ‘End of Times’ After Historic Snowfall
I lived in Florida for a few years, and I think the lowest temperature was probably in the 40s. When we moved there, the locals said that we would never need a winter coat. my, how times have changed.
Florida + Snow = Oh No!
The only time that I have seen snow in Florida, it was magical snow at Walt Disney World. So, even thinking about Florida having real winter weather is just insane to me. We always kind of think that the forecast is a bit off, especially if it's supposed to snow on the beach. This time the reports were not exaggerated.
My friend and former co-worker Woody shared some photos of the snow. Keep in mind that he lives in Tallahassee, Florida. He told me that he doesn't even have a winter coat. January is hoodie weather for Pete's sake.
I can only imagine the chaos on the roads as the snow fell. We aren't even used to driving in snow and ice here in Indiana!
Historic Snowfall Amounts in Florida
I have seen some crazy pics of actual snow on the beach. And like Taylor Swift sings it is 'Weird but @### beautiful'. But I would be pretty sad if we were in Panama City Beach, Florida and it was just as cold as it is here in Southern Indiana.
Woody tells me that Tallahassee received 3 to 5 inches of snow. That is not a dusting, that is a legit snowfall. Now, does that mean the end is near? Maybe not, but our Floridian friends would probably appreciate some snow gloves and sleds, just in case.
