How My Cute Idea Turned Into A Blonde Moment

My Latest “Blonde Moment” Confession

I guess you could say (and I know Bobby would probably say this) that some might consider me a natural blonde. I’ll admit, I’ve done some silly things in my life that make me and other people go, “Really, Callie?”

Well, I had one of those moments yesterday, and I had to share it as a cubicle confession. I also had to have some fun with it and ask YOU to guess what the heck I was holding.

Here’s What You Guessed

Before I tell you, here were your answers:

• Slime squishies
• Urinal cakes
• Shaped soaps
• Scallops
• Frozen pieces of chicken
• Fancy ice cubes
• Wax melts

As much as I laughed at the comments… only one of you was right. It was, in fact, fancy ice cubes.

Let Me Explain

I was at Walmart doing my normal grocery haul, and I’m not usually someone who goes inside. I normally do Walmart pickup, but this past weekend I decided to go in.

As I was casually strolling through the aisles, I came across this fruit ice mold, and I thought to myself, “Oh, that would be fun for spring and summer,” so I grabbed one.

My thought process was to make pink lemonade and regular lemonade, fill the ice molds with pink lemonade, and then pour the regular lemonade on top so it would be this pink and yellow/orangey kind of drink. Cute, right?

Where I Went Wrong

Well… I messed up.

I don’t have a lot of freezer space, so I needed to stack both molds on top of each other in the freezer. I didn’t want them to stick together, so I got the bright idea to put a paper plate in between them.

Now listen, I already admitted I have my blonde moments… but why I thought the ice wouldn’t stick to the paper plate, yet would stick if they were stacked on top of each other, I don’t know.

The Final Result And A Lesson Learned

Needless to say, what you’re looking at on that paper plate are the pink ice cubes made from pink lemonade… that I made the poor decision of putting on a paper plate.

Anyone want a paper plate-flavored ice cube in their drink?

Regardless, if you invite me to a party and I’m in charge of the drinks, just know I learned my lesson… and no, there will not be a paper aftertaste. 😄
