When March arrives, we all just start thinking about spring, right? It's only natural. Spring begins in March. Ah, but winter gets three more weeks until that day. (Where IS that groundhog?)

We have a significant snow event on tap for Sunday and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is readying the trucks.

The KYTC says that, weather permitting, trucks will be pre-treating what are called A & B snow priority routes in the counties along the Ohio River.

The Cabinet also says the District 2 Supertanker--which sounds like something I want to ride on--should have plenty of time to treat the driving lanes of interstate highways and parkways.

Also, highway crews will be on call and ready to move out on short notice Sunday if/when the need arises.

And, naturally, despite all of this, it is imperative that we still give ourselves plenty of time to get where we need to be.

Please don't be in a hurry. And don't forget to pop your vehicle into neutral when approaching an intersection and you need to stop.

That was one of the first things my dad ever taught me when I learned how to drive. I've never forgotten it.

Yeah, I'd like to not have to USE that valuable information, but I'm glad I have it.
