The waters are rising on the Ohio River as the flood warning from the National Weather Service continues for Daviess County and the tri-state.

Here's what we're getting from the NWS:

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
Kentucky...Illinois...

Ohio River at Owensboro...Newburgh Dam...Evansville...Mount Vernon...
  J.T. Myers Dam...Shawneetown and Golconda

. Minor flooding continues from Owensboro to Golconda. Moderate flooding
is still forecast to begin later today at Shawneetown and persist through
Sunday. River levels at Newburgh Dam and Evansville are cresting at this
time, but remainder of the river locations are on the rise. The river at
Owensboro and Evansville will fall below flood stage late this week, but
most river locations will not fall below flood stage until early next week.

Everyone knows this but it always bears repeating...don't ever drive vehicles through flood waters. You never know how deep the water is.

And don't play in the flood waters like we did when we were kids and the water got up in the street. The hazards are real.
