The Owensboro Police Department has just released the names and additional details from last night's dog attack in Owensboro that left one man dead and a woman injured.

When my phone lit up this morning the text said "Did you hear about Dana? Call me."

My heart sank because she's been through so much over the last several years and I instantly prayed for her safety. When I finally got in touch with my friend, I learned it was bad. Very bad.

I've known Dana for more than 15 years and I was so happy when she met David and found her someone special to love. Dana also loves and is devoted to her family and her furry family members. I don't know how she will pick up the pieces of her shattered life.

The Owensboro Police Department officially released the names and my heart continues to break. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Brown family.

On February 15th, 2018 the Owensboro Police Department responded to 2306 Heritage Park Drive in reference to a dog attack. When officers arrived at the scene, they were met by two aggressive dogs. One of the dogs charged at the officers and had to be put down due to its aggressive behavior. Once officers entered the residence, they observed an injured male and female lying on the floor.
The investigation revealed that the victims’ dogs were fighting and they intervened to try and separate them. Both victims sustained injuries from the dogs and were transported to OHRH. The Daviess County Coroner’s report revealed that David G. Brown suffered a cardiac arrest that was complicated by the dog attack.
