Owensboro Man Charged with Assault of Five Week Old Infant

Sad and disturbing news to pass along today.  An Owensboro man has been arrested on assault charges in connection with the alleged beating of a five-week-old child.

Owensboro City Police say 24-year-old Myles Hyman of Owensboro is in custody facing 1st degree assault charges in connection with a November 4th incident on Heartwood Court here in town.

Authorities say they were contacted by the Department of Community Based Services about a possible assault of a five-week-old infant.  The child reportedly sustained a serious head injury and was transported to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.

While the alleged assault took place on November 4th, Hyman's arrest occurred yesterday (Tuesday, November 21st).  He is charged with 1st Degree Assault, a Class B Felony and is housed in the Daviess County Detention Center.
