Owensboro's First Taste of Winter Temperatures Comes Monday

And just like that, it's the end of October. How is it that the pandemic has, at once, made time feel like it was crawling AND flying by right before our eyes.

Sunday is November 1st. In addition to setting your clocks back one hour before you go to bed Halloween night, you might want to crank up the furnace, make a bigger number appear on your thermostat, or just plain put another log on the fire.

Eyewitness News Chief Meteorologist Wayne Hart's most recent forecast calls for a dry cold front to arrive Sunday morning, after a pretty nice Halloween Saturday that will feature temperatures in the low 60s and sunshine. Not bad.

And, I'm happy it's a DRY cold front. Despite the fact we went forever without any rain, I think we made up for it this week.

It looks like our dip into the deep freeze will be brief before rebounding into what appears to be a very nice week ahead.

You know, it seems like Halloween weekend and the days immediately prior and afterward are never predictable. We've had snow on Halloween. We've had temps in the low 80s on Halloween. THIS year, Halloween will be nice.

But then the big wake up call Monday morning.
