American Idol

Last week, American Idol announced its 2018 tour, which will feature this season's Top 7 contestants and former champion .  Tickets for a variety of tour stops, including those in Nashville, Indianapolis and Cincinnati, go on sale today!

Layla Spring, who hails from Marion County, Kentucky, continues to impress the judges and the nation on the latest season of American Idol.  The former WBKR Battle for the Big O finalist has powered her way into the show's Top 24.  Last night, she took the stage and belted out Martina McBride's "A Broken Wing."  Watch!

She did it!!  Layla Spring, who is from Marion County, Kentucky, has made it to the Top 12 girls on American Idol!  Here at WBKR, we have known Layla for a couple of years now and are not surprised at all that she has powered her way onto the show.

A couple of years ago, Layla Spring showed up at the Owensboro Convention Center to audition for WBKR's Battle for the Big O competition.  She stepped to the mic and belted out one of the best versions of "Folsom Prison Blues" I have ever heard.  She qualified for the Battle finale and sang her way into the 2016 Top Five!  And, now, Layla is moving on to a bigger stage!  The Marion Count

As you read earlier this week, ABC is bringing American Idol back. You also may have heard season one winner and superstar Kelly Clarkson would be joining the judging panel. Well Idol fans, it's not to be.

I was listening to the news this morning and heard that 'American Idol' would be making a return! How exciting is this? Will we have another Carrie, Kellie, Scotty, Trent or Lauren in our future? I sure hope so!

Prepare to a) be amazed and blown away by this 15-year-old's talent and b) to cry.  Last night on American Idol, Tristan McIntosh of Nashville blew the judges away with her performance of "Why, Baby, Why" by Mickey Guyton, then brought them to tears when her military mom showed up unannounced!

In 2011, Rayvon Owen was singing on stage at Holiday World.  This year, he sang his way into the American Idol Top 4 and will soon embark on a nationwide summer tour.  But first, he's coming back to the tristate this weekend to meet fans and park-goers and sign autographs!

This is pretty incredible.  And, actually, his voice is even more incredible.   Some of you may recognize Rayvon Owen.  Back in 2011, he spent the summer performing at Holiday World and Splashin' Safari.  Last night, he stood before Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr. and sang his heart out on American Idol.  WATCH!
