It's here! ROMP gets underway at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro this Wednesday. A couple of weeks ago, the teaser for a documentary about the bluegrass festival produced by the Daviess County Public Library was released. Now, watch the entire doc!

There's a reason Ryman Auditorium in Nashville is referred to as "Mother Church". She's seen it all and she's 125 years old this year. As part of the Ryman's big anniversary two statues of country and bluegrass legends, "Little" Jimmy Dickens and Bill Monroe, have been unveiled.

Discussions and plans of building a museum dedicated to the father of Bluegrass music are finally coming to fruition. Bill Monroe will have a museum in his honor in his hometown of Rosine in Ohio County.

An honor flight took place this week from the Owensboro Sportscenter for local veterans.  Over 20 veterans are being honored during this flight.

The City of Owensboro is sponsoring a free LIVE concert on the river this summer.  The concerts will take place May through September with the first concert starting Saturday, May 20.  Check out the full list of entertainment!

It's no secret all of us contributors for WBKR are always looking for something to blog about. I search for stories with "Owensboro" either in the story or in the title. I've searched on YouTube several times and one video that always pops up is "Natalie Merchant-Owensboro" and I never knew what it was about, until now.

It's back! The International Bluegrass Music Museum's benefit concert series will continue this fall with seven performances scheduled September through December.
