For the third year, you can take the family to see several free movies at Evansville parks this summer with city officials and members of the police and fire departments.

Evansville residents are invited to volunteer at six community tree planting events this March as part of the new Evansville Forest Alliance initiative.

Several local businesses are currently fielding applications for summer 2026 employment. Holiday World, Scales Lake, Evansville Parks Department, and more are currently hiring for part-time seasonal work and more.

The Evansville Department of Parks and Recreation will be offering free swimming lessons and more.

The renewal plan includes creating an ADA-compliant walking path, as well as pollinator flower beds for birds, bees, and butterflies, and new park benches.

Before the Evansville Parks Department moves forward with a 5-year master plan, they want the public to have plenty of chances to give their input.
