Indiana residents got an eyeful AND an earful this weekend when the Geminids meteor shower passed overhead. And it hasn't even peaked yet.

A fireball meteor soaring 53 miles above the Earth was visible in at least 13 states Thursday night.

All I know is, that a clear night sky with endless amounts of stars is still magical to me. This leads me to ask this question, have you ever seen a shooting star, a meteor, or a meteorite?

You won't often see a fireball as brilliant as this one. Multiple security cameras recorded a massive meteor as it streaked across the Midwest with numerous reports of being sighted over Illinois.

If really want an epic view of the stars, you need to get far away from cities. That's what one videographer did as they captured a stunning time-lapse video of a starry night which included many meteors from deep inside the woods of Missouri.

If you had your eyes looking toward the skies Friday night, you may have seen a spectacular fireball that was seen over 6 different states including Missouri and Illinois. There's video that shows how brilliant it was.
