Angel here! This was a day I have been on the fence about for a while now. I am both happy and sad that my last baby boy is heading off to school. It all seems to go so fast after this.

Kids today face more pressure than I could have ever dreamed. Sure, it was there but I wouldn't let it bother me to the point where I had no one to turn to. Kids today may not have that person to turn to to express what he or she is feeling.

It's here, "Teacher Appreciation Week". Yes, it only happens in May, but most school systems take an entire week to honor the hundreds and thousands of educators who work tirelessly with all kids. Growing up, everyday was "Teacher Appreciation Day" because I lived with one, my Dad Neil Grant.
The cutoff age for children entering kindergarten in Kentucky has been moved up by two months. Most children who turn 5 by August 1st 2017 would be able to enroll. A child used to have had turned 5 by October 1st in order to enroll in kindergarten.
On Thursday, the K-PREP statewide testing results were released and two Ohio County schools did very well. Both Ohio County High School and Southern Elementary School earned "Distinguished/Progressing" status. The staff at OCHS was so excited, they made a little video to congratulate their students.
