The National Weather Service has placed Owensboro and the tri-state under a slight to enhanced risk for severe weather Thursday.

Here's what we have from the NWS is saying:

Scattered thunderstorms will lift northward out of southern
Illinois and the Evansville Tri State by late Thursday morning.
Locally heavy rainfall and lightning will be the primary concerns
through the morning.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop
Thursday afternoon and become widespread Thursday night. Severe
storms with damaging winds, tornadoes, and even large hail will be
possible, with the greatest concern over southeast Missouri. In
addition, heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding in some
localized areas.
