Daviess County Farm Bureau won top honors for its region of the state in the 2013 Safety Challenge Awards competition during Kentucky Farm Bureau’s annual meeting in Louisville.

The award was given to Daviess County for the safety education it provided to nearly 50 students, ages 9 -13, during its Kids Safety Summit. The free event, produced in partnership with numerous local agencies and business sponsors, was held at Apollo High School and featured a variety of activities promoting safety and health around the home and farm. Stations were set up to inform attendees how to be safe around fire, hunting, boats and water, tractors, lawnmowers and ATVs, pets and farm animals, electricity, storms and weather, and tips for administering first aid.

Congrats to all the members!
