DCPS Founders Society Is Now Official

The Board of Directors of the Foundation for Daviess County Public Schools is pleased to announce our Founder’s Society investment program.

The Founder’s Society is featured on the Foundation web site at www.foundationfordcps.org – Give to the Foundation – Founder’s Society.

The Founder’s Society is a three-year program for the individual investor that ends December 31, 2014.  Founder’s Society members, who are asked to invest a minimum of $1,000 (or $400 yearly over the three-year period), will be recognized at the Foundation’s Focus Awards event held in the spring each year, on the web site and in printed promotional materials.  Donors may choose to remain anonymous.    

 The Founder’s Society will fund the Foundation’s endowment.  The Foundation’s endowment will provide grants to teachers for innovative, enrichment and supplemental educational programs in the areas of health, literacy and/or technology in Daviess County Public Schools.  

The Foundation’s School Needs List contains projects from each school in the district.  Currently submitted projects are heavily technology oriented with many projects qualifying dually for literacy and technology consideration.  Submitted projects total well over $300,000. 

“DCPS staff is embracing electronic learning.  We have received multiple requests to fund ‘literacy through technology’ initiatives,” said Vicki Quisenberry, Executive Director for the Foundation. “We are offering the Founder’s Society as an opportunity for our generous benefactors to assist DCPS in providing additional educational opportunities for our children.”
