First Baptist Church Will Double as a Warming Shelter Tonight

Anyone needing shelter from the extreme bitter cold we'll soon feel can head to First Baptist Church in downtown Owensboro beginning at 6PM.

The church, on the corner of 3rd Street and J.R. Miller Boulevard, will also allow you to bring your pets so they can warm up, too.

With single-digit, near-zero temperatures and even worse wind chill factors expected tonight, First Baptist echoes our hope that you check on any friends or relatives who might be at risk and make sure they are safe.

Plus, this is as good a time as any to remind you to make sure you've checked your anti-freeze and your letting your faucets drip to avoid pipe freeze-up.
