When you head down to the Riverfront tonight for Friday After 5, bring along a canned good to help the Help Office!

Executive Director Kirk Kirkpatrick says the Glenn Family Services came up with the idea to place bins for canned goods along the way to the show Friday night.  The items will be delivered to the Owensboro Help Office Saturday.

Said Kirkpatrick, "Glenn Family Services have sponsored all six free concerts and many of our guests asked about how they could show their thanks."

“We did this last year and were able to provide the Help Office with hundreds of canned goods”, said Christy Chaney of Glenn Family Services. “We’re looking forward to restocking their shelves again this year thanks to the generosity of those attending the Gospel on the River” program this Friday.

The sixth and final free Gospel on the River show takes place this Friday After 5 in Cannon Hall and will feature “The Crossmen Quartet”, “The Greesons” and “Firm Foundation”.  Doors open at 6pm and the show begins at 7pm.  Donations of canned goods are not required for admission.

Friday After 5 is Owensboro’s summer-long free concert series that includes “Gospel on the River” concerts as part of the entertainment line-up for this weekend which includes “Insulated” on the Brescia Stage, “Jubalson” on the UniFirst Stage and two special friends flying in from Cartoon Land to appear at the Kroger Street Fair.
