The rich tradition and world-class prestige of the World’s Championship Horse Show will continue for its 107th year when it returns to the Kentucky State Fair Aug. 21 through Aug. 27.  This leading international equine event will feature more than 2,000 horses vying for over $1 million dollars in premiums. People from around the world will watch these horses compete in eight different divisions showcasing Five-Gaited, Three-Gaited, Fine Harness, Saddlebred Pleasure, Saddlebred Equitation, Hackney/Harness Ponies, Roadster Ponies and Roadster Horses.

Those new to the equine world, or those who simply can’t get enough, are encouraged to take advantage of the free morning performances at 9:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22 through Saturday, Aug. 27 with paid gate admission to the Kentucky State Fair. Seating will be available in the upper level of Freedom Hall.

In addition to the most respected horse competition in the world, the Kentucky State Fair offers a host of other activities in the North Wing catering to horse enthusiasts.

Spectators and competitors alike will be able to mark even the most nominal horse lover off their shopping list at the Equine Exhibit, in the North Wing adjacent to the horse stalls. More than 100 vendors will offer a vast assortment of horse supplies, tack, jewelry, and clothing. 

Patrons looking for a taste of the Fair won’t have to miss a moment of the horse show. The Saddlebred Café, the only full-service restaurant at the Kentucky State Fair, features two screens with live video streaming of the prestigious competition and a menu that includes fine dining and gourmet desserts. They also offer a full-service bar serving soft drinks, coffee, wine, beer and cocktails.
