From our news partners at Eyewitness News at tristatehomepage.com:

Around 8 p.m. Thursday a tow boat hit the bridge over Kentucky Lake causing it to partially collapse.

The pilot of the vessel reported he was running without any barges in tow at the time.

According to Kentucky Transportation no vehicles were on the bridge.

20 crew members were on board the vessel at the time.

A tow boat is on the scene picking them up.

We are told traffic has been halted on the US 68 and KY 80 span that links Trigg and Marshall counties. That's about a two and a half drive from Evansville.

We're going to keep you updated with any new information.

Tom Rogers at WKDZ Radio in Cadiz, KY, has generously offered to share their photos. It was at night, so the quality is lacking.
