Live Horse Racing is Back at Ellis Park

Calling all Horse racing fans!  Ellis Park has opened it gates for another exciting season of live thoroughbred racing.  

July 2 marked the opening day of the 88^th season of live racing at Ellis Park. Horse race fans of all ages placed their bets and held onto their hats as the horses charged out of the gates.  

I like the grey horses but how do you pick your favorite horse?  Color? Name? Jockey? Probability? However you do it, you are sure to have a great time with the whole family at Ellis Park every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July2 – September 5. 

And every Sunday is Dollar Day! Bring the family out and enjoy $1.00  Soft Drinks, Hot dogs, Draft beer, ice cream and popcorn.

 Ellis Park is also packed with other exciting events. The Wiener Dog Race trials will take place again on July 10 with the championship race scheduled for Saturday July 16 in between live races. 

Don’t miss the fun on July 30 when Clark Distribution Co and Coors Light will sponsor live camel and ostrich races. 

With so much fun going on at Ellis Park this summer, you have no excuse to keep your hooves propped up on the couch. Racing at Ellis is a Kentucky and Tri-State Tradition so it never hurts to take an afternoon off to practice the tradition (or in my case make a contribution).
