So this guy gets the coolest news story of the year award right here.  He found something astonishing in his back yard for sure.  He and a neighbor were digging on his property when they hit a little snag.  It was a wooly mammoth.

Basically what we are talking about here is something out of the ordinary for sure.  Michigan University decided to make a video to talk about the mammoth and how old it could possibly be and how old it was when this mammoth had died.

Wait I feel a Michigan joke coming along... Okay got one.. How many Michigan students does it take to dig up a mammoth?

I don't know where that one is going but GO BUCKEYES!

Anyway this mammoth is somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 years old and was said to have been right around forty years old when it was killed for it's meat.  It's kind of a breakthrough for scientists and people looking to find any bit of information about people that lived fifteen thousand years ago.

This stuff fascinates me so much.  Along with the head, tusks, pelvis, shoulder blades and ribs they found potential tools that could have been used to take this bad boy down.  They also found clues that could prove that they had to anchor this beast down.

Check this video out.
