New Recycling Center Opens
Owensboro City Officials are excited to announce the opening of the new and improved recycling center located at 1401 West 7th Street.
The center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. An attendant is available to assist you on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Mayor Ron Payne commented, “The City’s commitment to recycling is ongoing. The new center, now paved and manned, is not only cleaner, but more customer-friendly. We hope the new conditions improve current customer satisfaction and entice new customers.” The recycling center will continue to accept the following items:
- Cardboard
- Newspaper and phonebooks
- Magazines
- Aluminum cans
- Steel cans
- Plastic containers (Numbers 1 through 7, found on the bottom of the containers and nothing larger than a 5-gallon bucket)
