One of the Premiere events of Spring in Owensboro is the Kentucky Derby celebration presented by the Owensboro Syphony Alliance and Orchestra. Now in it's third year, the Juleps and Jockeys event continues to grow. This years promises to be the best yet.

Set for Saturday May 5 from 4 -9 p.m. at the Hines Center the event is a MUST for those who love the Derby Tradition.

Two 14 ft. screen will show all the action from Churchill Downs without the crowds. With big screens you have a better view than those who actually attend the Run for the Roses.

Valet Parking, Mint Juleps, A Bourbon Bar, Cigar Tent, Kentucky Derby Buffet Dinner, Live and Silent Auctions are all on tap for this years event. On top of that the 2nd St Big Band will provide live dance music beginning at 7pm till around 9.

The cost? Only $45 pp for Box Seats. I suggest going in style on Millionaires Row. A reserved table of eight, Preferred Seating and Special amenities with Transportation to and from the event and a Derby Gift Bag for $100 pp ($800 for a table of 8)

Chairperson Mary Cabell was on the Joe Lowe Morning Show this morning and talked about the Party. She is pulling out all the stops on this one. I hope you can attend.

If you want tickets (they are going fast) call the Symphony Office at 270-684-0661 and start working on that Derby Hat and outfit for May 5.
