Sports Update – World Cup MLB NBA

The World Cup is amping up and after the United States finished 90 minutes tied against Portugal this past Sunday they have quite a bit of other games to worry about if they are going to get a good seat on the knockout bus.

"Now we hav eno choice but to regroup, get ourselves ready for another big game on Thursday." Words from midfielder, Michael Bradley.

Germany leads te pack currently with four points after beating Portugal 4-0 as well as tying Ghana 2-2. The United States opened up their games with a 2-1 win over Ghana and also sits current with 4 points.

Spain found themselves victorious with a 3-0 win over Russia. Spain will not move on to the knockout round. The Netherland beat Chile 2-0 and both of those teams will move to the knockout. Neymar scored twice for the Brazilians and they will play Chile in the next round. Mexico advances as well after a 3-1 victory over Croatia.

Parker, Ginobli, Duncan. Three big names for the Spurs and all returning next year and all three will be on the final year of their contract. Duncan will start his 18th season, averaging fifteen points and nine rebounds a game, the 38 year old Spur is exercising his $10.3 million option for next season. He won his 5th NBA title this year.

Chris Davis blasted one to the stands after a 14 game tenure on the bench. He hit a cringing .130 during his stint and Manager Buck Showalter called his number to pinch hit with two on in the ninth. He responded very well and amped up that batting average after launching one to right, getting a 3 run homer to bring the Orioles a 6-4 win over the White Sox.

The Reds and the Cubs were tied at 1 a piece. Billy Hamilton got the RBI single to break the lock later to see Devin Mesoraco add some more insurance with a two out grand slam that put the score at 6-1.
