The legendary country music group Alabama is coming to the Ford Center in Evansville on Thursday, March 30th. They're bringing their 2023 Roll on North America Tour to town and fans here in the tristate are pumped about it. And, here at WBKR, we're celebrating with a last minute chance to win tickets to the show.

Believe it or not, it's been nearly 50 years since Alabama burst onto the country music scene. Their very first chart hit was way back in 1977 and the song didn't make much of an impact. Remember this?

The song peaked at a mere #78 on the U.S. Country Chart.

However, the band quickly turned that around.  Their next song, "I Wanna Come Over," climbed inside the Top 40 and peaked at #33.

Their third single, "My Home's in Alabama" ended up flirting with the Top Ten, but stalled out at #17.

Then, Alabama struck gold with "Tennessee River." The song skyrocketed all the way to top spot in the countdown and became the group's first #1 of many!

That song ignited a streak of 21 consecutive #1 hits that spanned from 1980 to 1987. They had a slight hiccup with the song "Tar Top" (which peaked at #7), but then roared back with six more consecutive #1s.

The group will be performing many of their biggest hits during the Roll on North America Tour in Evansville. Plus, we'd love for you to be there to hear them.

We have five pairs of tickets up for grabs and I will be announcing our lucky winners at 7:50am on the morning of the show.

Alabama will be joined at the Ford Center tour popular bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent.
