YOUR SKIN CANCER RISK

I remember one of the first times the danger of skin cancer really struck me was when former President Reagan had skin cancers removed from his face.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, 1 in 5 of us will develop a skin cancer in our life time.

A few months ago I felt something on my back I couldn't see. I asked Mrs. Moon what it looked like to her. She said just a blotch.

So, when I went to my primary care physician she took a look and gave me clearance. It was just a temporary blister.  But, you see I am aware. And, you should be, too.

If you see or feel anything that might be cancerous have it checked.

Prevention is also a good idea. Don't use tanning beds, spend limited time in the sun, wear caps, hats and long sleeves.

And, the biggie: use a sun screen to protect against UV rays.
